Short Biography

I’ve been an IT professional for 11 years specializing most recently in website development.  I have a BSBA degree in Computer Info Systems from the University of Central Missouri.  But this is my day job . . .

My spirit is full when I use my soul, my body, and my expertise to teach.  My passion is fitness and encouraging women to take time for themselves to get and stay in shape.  I am AFAA (Aerobic and Fitness Association of America) certified and teach a variety of themes.  My themes are concepts to entice women to commit to a regular workout for specific amount of time; a central idea to make getting fit motivational and fun.

My current theme is Urban Pilates which incorporates the latest sounds to include R&B, Hip Hop, and Pop.  It’s a fun way to utilize simple Pilate moves to strengthen the abs, glutes, and hips.  I encourage my students to focus on shrinking the middle because this will make everything else look good; we are going for “brick house”, baby!  It’s my opinion that listening to your favorite songs not only aids in meditation, but also it encourages my students to keep the workout personal.  It’s the music and the presentation that makes the class feel less like “work”.

Financial Philosophy:

If there is any doubt, I don’t buy it.  This includes a house, car, clothes, etc.  I use Quicken to pay my bills before they are due.  I like staying ahead of the “man”.  This is usually appreciated more at the end of the year.

I invest safely and assume little risk.  I don’t have the resources (time and money) to play games.

If I don’t know it, I ask somebody who does.  I stay humble as to learn financially from those who know.  A lot of times, we let pride keep us from learning to be better with our finances.

Personal Financial Goals:

My current goal is to save.  I want to always be prepared for a storm.  Long term I want to retire comfortably continuously using my gifts to give back.

Tips for success:

My own personal success is not defined by others; everyone has a different path and purpose.  I focus on endeavors that make me feel proud which may or may not go along with what’s popular.

Misc:

Urban Pilates is at FIMB Wellness Center for 8 weeks starting Jan 17th.  If you are interested in this class or my upcoming theme “Zumbalicious”,  you can email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it   Please include your favorite song.

Pefect Timing! Who doesn't want to be Zumbalicious? With the start of the new year I know that all of us are more focused, even if for a short while, on becoming more fit. For me, because working out gets boring, I appreciate that you are taking the time to come up with, and put in to practice, new and exciting themes. Thanks for giving back, and keep up the good work!
